Lisa K. Lock
LISA K. LOCK,
holds a Ballet Diploma from the Grande Ecole de Danse in Switzerland and a
Bachelor and Masters degree from the California Institute of the Arts in Los
Angeles. Since 1994, Ms. Lock is performing her solo
works internationally, and in the Los Angeles area, and has been honored by a
Lester Horton Award for Outstanding Achievement in Choreography in 2002,
previous to receiving numerous nominations for the categories of choreography
and performance since 1999. She has been produced by: The Los Angeles
Women's Theatre Festival Deborah Brockus in both her series "Split"
and "Spectrum", Highways Performance Space, L.A.C.E (Los Angela
Contemporary Exhibitions), Dance Kaleidoscope, CalArts, and the Huntington
Beach Art Center. Last summer Ms. Lock returned to
Switzerland to perform a solo concert at the EXPO 2002 in the Swiss Abroad
Program, and in ‘99 she toured Austria and Lithuania with the American
Choreographer's Showcase, and was invited to perform for Swiss TV in collaboration
with Manuel Montanana. As a freelance artist Ms. Lock is
performing with Hysterica Dance Company and La Danserie. In the past she did appear with Robert
Gilliam, the Francisco Martinez Dance Theatre, KIN Dance Company, the CalArts
Dance Ensemble and the Bridge Dance Theater in Los Angeles, as well the
Northeast Ballet Company in Schenectady, NY. Currently, Ms Lock teaches ballet and
modern dance technique at Moorpark College and the Rozann-Zimmerman Ballet
Center. In the past, Ms. Lock has been a guest
teacher at the California Institute of the Arts as well as managed the dance
division of CAP (Community Arts Partnership).
She also has been an Artist in Residence at the Antelope Valley
College, Scripps College, and a lecturer in Dance at Cerritos College, Pomona
College and the Idyllwild School of Music and the Art. For more information, please visit
